About the event
Adelene Greene retired from Kenosha County in December 2016 after 27 years, with her last position being as Director of Workforce Development. Although retired from her job, Adelene continues her volunteer service in the community, including ELCA Outreach Center, Susan B. Anthony Committee, Kenosha Kindness Week planning team, Kenosha Community Foundation Grants Committee, African American Read-in team, Peace Learning Circles Board, Kenosha Life
Course Initiative for Healthy Families, Sisters Network of SE Wisconsin for Black Breast Cancer Survivors and facilitates two book clubs: SISTARS and Rainbow Voices Social Justice Book Club.
Adelene leads the Kenosha Coalition for Dismantling Racism, a grass roots community group that promotes anti-racism efforts through education, awareness and community dialogues called “Courageous Conversations.” Adelene relocated from Indiana to Kenosha over 30 years ago. She is an avid reader, traveler, community leader and social justice advocate. Adelene believes in the strength of diversity and that change happens by reaching one person at a time. She lives in Kenosha with her husband Derrell Greene, an Army veteran.
