Tempo Kenosha April 2022 Luncheon

Barbara Keisman started her career as a fashion model in Cleveland doing advertisements for the local department stores. A few years later she moved to Chicago, where Barbara continued in the fashion industry by teaming up with her husband to shoot fashion for a few department stores. It was while they were fashion photographers that Barbara designed a coat for herself. Whenever she wore the coat, men and women would ask me where she had gotten the coat. Realizing she had a talent for designing, Barbara re-designed the coat and took it to the Chicago Apparel Center wondering if a showroom would be interested in selling it to the stores during market. A showroom accepted it and within a short period of time, Barbara realized she was in over her head and decided to put designing on hold as she had a two-year-old at home to raise.

Soon enough she had three children. To raise her children, Barbara moved to the burbs where she opened a portrait photography studio. She was also able to do some corporate photography for the many medical companies in the area. During this time period she also started to write and within a period of 20 years or so, have published three books: Financial Storms, Divorced, Yet Not Forsaken, and GOD-MD all listed on Amazon.com. She also created a YouTube channel, Barbara Keisman / Dare To Dream Once More, where she shares many stories on how she started the photography and fashion businesses, and some of her experiences with her Christian faith.

Later, Barbara returned to fashion designing and launched her fashion line: Barbara Keisman Feel Good Fashions.  www.barbarakeisman.com. Some highlights to her fashion designing career include being chosen to participate in the City of Chicago fashion program, and as a designer in Macy’s Fashion Incubator - Chicago.
